So, my first ever Bfest was really good. It's such a cute wee festival (even though the weather was a bit minging!) The first band I saw was Furry Vengeance, before I write any more thank you so much to them for the tickets because otherwise I probably wouldn't have been able to go! They were really good as always and if you didn't see them there definitely make sure you go see them at the Summer Showcase (22nd August) this week! It's a shame there wasn't a few more people around but that was probably just because of the rain
The next band I saw was Wasted Sidelines (I think the name on the line-up was Jamie Reid though) You wouldn't have known it was their first gig, they sounded really good and managed to get quite a few people in to see them! Definitely worth going to see if you like indie/ rock music.
After that I saw The Oxides. Even though they're a local band, this was the first time I'd seen them because every other time I try to see them it's in a pub and I can't get in. They're such a good band and I'm glad I finally got to see them. They'll be playing at Summer Showcase 8 (29th August) definitely worth going along to!
Next band on the main stage was Toby Michaels Rolling Damned. Just a usual Rolling Damned gig really with Toby rolling around the ground and running around the crowd. They are probably one of the best bands to see live, it's pretty entertaining! I don't really think people in Wick were expecting that!
After was Brown Bear and the Bandits. I really like this band so I was happy to see that they were on the line-up. It started getting a bit busier at that point which was good as well. The band were amazing as always and they're new songs are sounding really good.
The next band on the main stage was Anderson McGinty Webster Ward and Fisher. They're another band that I really like so it was nice to see them there too (we listened to their album for the whole journey up to Wick - buy it, it's good!). I think they're probably one of the most talented bands I've ever seen and they're definitely worth looking out for.
So, it was a quick food break next and then back to see the end of Scooty and the Skyhooks. I onlu saw the last song of their set so I'm not really sure what they were actually like but they sounded not bad from what I heard and the sun finally came out as well which was nice! (I'll definitely know next time to wear warmer clothes, It's freezing in Wick!)
It was then over to see James Mackenzie. I've seen him once before a couple of years and he definitely sounds a lot different now (but in a good way!) I really like his music and it worked well having the backing band as well. He had quite a big crowd in the tent too which was nice to see!
I managed to catch the end of The Side's set after that. It was the first time I'd heard and seen the band. They sounded really good and I'll definitely go and see them again next times they're playing!
Over to see Finding Albert after that. I was planning on seeing The Xcerts but it started to rain and i didn't really want to stand outside! I'm glad I went to see Finding Albert though because they were amazing. They are definitely a band to look out for and go see!
I know I've mentioned this already but Wick is freezing! So because of that I only stayed for the first two songs of The Commitments because it was way to cold to stand around. They're not really my sort of band anyway so I wasn't too bothered about missing them and I could still hear them from the tent anyway! Bfest was such a good festival and it's definitely worth going to (even though it is quite a long journey up there!) It was such a good line-up and it was nice to see some local bands
