Ryan Keen - The Ironworks - 23rd AprilThis was definitely the quietest gig I've been to in a while, you could pretty much hear people thinking! Still, it was really nice to go to a quieter gig and it was a much more laid back and relaxed atmosphere than the other gigs I have been to recently. It's also made me really happy that there was tables and chairs (living the lazy life!).
Starting off the night was local singer songwriter Alice Bentley from Dingwall. I've seen Alice play quite a few times now and I'm pretty sure she just get's better and better each time! She started off her set with 'Enjoy Myself' and 'Scottish Rain' which is definitely my favourite of her songs. Included in her set was also covers of 'Pumped Up Kicks' by Foster The People and 'Don't Save Me' by Haim which both sounded amazing! Alice also sung one of her new songs 'Cider' which she asked everyone in the crowd to give their opinion on and it was definitely a thumbs up from me!

Ryan Keen then came on, starting off his set with 'Old Scars'. I really love his music and he is definitely one of the most talented musicians I've ever seen. His style of music kind of reminds me of Ed Sheeran and I'm really jealous of how well he plays guitar! Also included in his set was 'Trouble', 'When The Day Breaks', 'Wish You Well' and many other songs from his new album Room For Light. During the set he asked if there was any requests which he then regretted when someone said 'Skin and Bones'. I really love this song so I'm glad someone mentioned it and it sounded absolutely amazing! He then finished the set with 'Focus' and 'See Me Now' which I loved because these were both the first of his songs that I ever heard when I first found out about his music two years ago!
This was such an amazing gig and it was really nice to meet Ryan at the end too! I would definitely recommend going along to one of his gigs or even just listening to some of his music! (listen below!)
