Considering I'm a teenage girl, I think it's okay for me to fangirl a little bit and it's pretty much 100% going to happen if I write about this gig! Twin Atlantic were absolutely amazing. They're definitely one of my favourite bands so finding out that they were going to be touring again was obviously really exciting. The Loft is such a lovely venue as well and it's nice to mix it up a little bit and go to a gig that's not in Inverness for a change (the gig was actually in the cowshed which is a bit bigger but just as nice!)
The support for the night came from Michael Cassidy who is a singer/ songwriter from Paisley. I had never heard him before this gig but I would definitely recommend listening to his music. He started off his set with 'The Road' and went on to sing a number of his other songs including 'Battleships' and 'We Can Breathe'. His music has a kind of upbeat folk sound, which I really liked and it was a really nice way to start the night. Michael will be back up in the North very soon playing at goNORTH so everyone should definitely go see him if you haven't already!

Okay, so if you've ever been to a Twin Atlantic gig you'll know that when Bohemian Rhapsody comes on that it means Twin Atlantic will be coming on after. Like, that is just such an amazing song to put on before a band because literally everyone in the crowd was singing along. And then the start of 'Yes I Was Drunk' started playing and on came Twin Atlantic. Obviously being right at the barrier is a major advantage but the fact that the stage at the Loft isn't very tall and it was also a lot closer to the crowd made it so much better! I really love Twin Atlantic and they are definitely one of the best bands I've seen live. The band played a mixture of their older songs and also a few of their new songs which was really good to hear, I can already tell the new album is going to be amazing. Some of the songs included in the set were 'The Ghost Of Eddie', 'Wonder Sleeps Here', 'Crash Land', 'Free', 'I Am An Animal' and 'Heart And Soul'. They then finished their set with 'Make A Beast Of Myself'. I've been to quite a lot of gigs over the last few years but I can honestly say that this was definitely one of the best I've ever been to.
